Agree with everything said about this series as well as adding my heartfelt plea for Acorn to release the rest of this memorable drama - not enough is said however about the qualilty of the writing on this series, particularly those plays by top writers Brady and Bingham who also gave us No Honestly, Forever Green and many Upstairs Downstairs as well as many other great television shows and films. So let's see the rest ~ particularly the episodes that feature the wonderful Richard Vernon as the head of the Ducal family for whom Barbara goes to work. Please Acorn? Heartwarming series on the role of Nanny. The series covers aspects of child care that were ahead of it's time when it first came out. I look forward to the rest of this very fine production being released. Please Oh please let us have the rest! (Posted on 16/05/2011)Rating - Superb series Review by Annecats

It was great to be able to buy the DVDs and see the first series again. Please, please, Acorn, release the other two series! It's just not complete without them. Wendy Craig is just wonderful in this - my Mum was a nanny in the 1930s and we used to so enjoy watching this together. Absolutely fantastic. Nanny was always great show and it was a good successful show for Saturday evenings. Wendy Craig is one of Britain's finest actresses and it will be a good tribute to her to get all 3 series released on DVD. The BBC do not own the rights to this show anymore - Acorn do, so more pressure from the true fans will see this great show released in full....and why not Acorn when every other show has been released on DVD. The fans should get what they want. So come on Acorn, do the right thing and release Series 2 & 3. (Posted on 03/01/2011)Rating - Excellent Review by Marie

I have been looking for Nanny on DVD for years now and was overjoyed to find the first series had been released. I enjoyed it the first time round, and after such a long break and delighted to see it once again. It has lost none of its gentle charm and just captivates you from the first episode. I remember all three series were each as charming, and Wendy Craig was perfect casting for the lead role as Nanny. We need the other two series please, we are missing so much not having them available. (Posted on 13/02/2010)Rating - One of my all time favorites Review by KK

This series has that wonderful mellow Sunday evening 'feel' about it (can't recall if it filled this slot when first shown). It's well written, and Wendy Craig is perfect in the role of Nanny.Rating
The series is also well researched and some of the attitues of 1930s Britain are depicted rather well. There are few period dramas I can think of that really focus on this particular period quite so well. The icing on the cake is the gorgeous intro and incidental score by the late Grant Hossack.
If you like period drama then you will not be disappointed with this, particularly if you have a memory of seeing and enjoying its first broadcast all those years ago. The intro graphics and music will bring the memories flooding back. Please Acorn, you must release the other seasons of this series! (Posted on 02/09/2009) - Brilliant! Review by Jo
