I really enjoy this series, a classic detective drama series built on all the best cliches and partnerships. The characters are engaging and Nathaniel Parker puts in a good solid performance as Inspector Lynley but Sharon Small is the star of this particular series. Her portrayal of DS Havers, with her feisty, independent and distinctly confrontational attitudes to rank and authority is exemplary.

This drama gets better as it goes on and the latest series is definately the best to-date and the only criticism I have for these DVDs is the first 2 series are lacking in extra's but series 3 and 4 are much better with subtitles, picture galleries and biographies.
