Michael Kitchen stars as Major Herbert Rowse Armstrong in this adaptation of a true story about a respected solicitor who lived in the small town of Hay-on-Wye with his wife, Catherine and their three children. In 1922 Armstrong was hanged for the murder of his wife and the attempted murder of his business rival, Oswald Martin. Armstrong strongly denied the allegations and claimed that the arsenic used in the poisonings was bought simply to kill the dandelions in his garden.
