The much loved bon viveur, raconteur and cricket commentator Henry Blofeld brings his unique voice, witty eye and self deprecatory humour to life in this delightfully special live stage appearance.
Brought up in a well-to-do Edwardian household, educated at Eton and Cambridge, a cricket career hampered by an accident and cleverly avoiding a life in merchant banking, Henry recounts the many adventures and misadventures of his life, along with memories of the paths he has crossed and the people he has met along the way. These include fellow cricket commentators Brian Johnston and John Arlott, as well as the notable likes of Bond (and Blofeld) creator Ian Fleming, blind pianist George Shearing and the man known as “the master,” Noel Coward.
My Dear Old Thing, I hope this gives you as much amusement to watch as it gave me to make it. Pip Pip!
